Blessed Be! It’s Solstice! How did you celebrate today?
As you can see, I did a bit of fire-spinning. It was both hot and cold, sort of like that Katy Perry song, but less trendy/predictable. I wish I knew some more moves, and plan to maybe learn some over break. I really love winter solstice, as it’s an actual holiday in my household, with candle-lighting and prayers and commemorating our personal element (guess what mine is?), remembering that we are really a pile of interesting chemicals which interact for awhile then we return to being grass or water or a moose.
But Solstice is also a great holiday to have a party that is, to most people, somewhat ecumenical. I know some of my peeps in D-town are having a bonfire tonight. I just thought smaller than a bonfire but bigger than a candle.
Anyway, here’s another post on how to make your fires infinitely more awesome. I plan on incorporating this at my next fire opportunity, namely New Years Eve.

This is great. We actually need stuff like this, when Iraqi teens can hack our military-grade video from drone with software for $26. Yeah.
Also, in case you really don’t understand the whole giving stuff around the holiday thing…
